Routine Apps – Jul 2023
I’ve tried several routine apps over the years: The Fabulous, The HabitHub, Habitica, one that grew little trees…
However, my new favourite is RoutineFlow. These apps are often marketed for ADHD, but really these are for anyone who just enjoys and sees the value in having a nice routine, like me.
I already use Todoist for short-term to-do planning, and Toodledo for long-term to-do scheduling.
What I needed most was a very simple daily routine app that helps me start the morning right, and end the night right. I used to do this with pen and paper, and then with my calendar a long time ago, and I probably could have coded this myself, but, I do not believe in reinventing the wheel. These already exist.
What I like most is that there is no subscription service required. Simply a one-time payment (like the good ole days). Another thing, is that this app does one thing – make a routine. No motivational quotes, no articles, no community feature, no coaching letters, no music… I could do without the insight and tracking section, but I just ignore it, and tracking is not the main focus, unlike other apps.
